The first FWB Anti-POI-Shift Rail has arrived, and now it’s in stock in the webshop!
This special scope rail, together with my FWB Anti-POI-Shift Kit, allows you to use your Feinwerkbau rifle without POI-Shifts. This scope rail is compatible with all FWB P70 FT rifles, that have got a standard FWB dovetail on their barrel sleeve.
Added a new adapter to the product range, for the new MEC Contact-III hook. The adapter sits on the top of the original upper wing, all you need to do is to drill a 4 mm hole and mount the adapter.

Created a new portfolio page with interactive 3d models of my designs. You can see a couple of samples here, the full collection is available here: 3D models.

The first video shows how the folding mechanism works. I found an axis that gives the ideal position for the magnifier when folded in, and also can fold in automatically when carrying the rifle (see the third video).
Now you can see the main advantage of using a proper scope magnifier: I can rangefind and read the results with my other eye on the target. There’s no need to lean back and take the scope off the eyes, losing valuable time on a timed shot. I simply rangefind and then read within seconds, watch my left eye and the subtitles.
And this is the best feature of the EagleEye Parallax, the automatic folding :-) When the screw is set in a less tight position, the magnifier can move freely, and this results an automatic folding: when the rifle is in shooting position, the magnifying window folds out, but when the rifle is pointing to the ground, it folds in as soon as the shooting jacket touches it.
A few photos of the second generation prototypes of the EagleEye magnifiers on my S&B scope. This is the 42-43 mm version of the EagleEye Parallax magnifier, but I designed an adapter for those who use a rubber scope enhancer.
The Parallax and Click magnifiers work fine together, and I can read easily both parallax and click scales again, with my eyes on the scope.
Of course, the main attraction is the folding-up magnifier. Look at it how it works: when folded up, it goes totally out of the way and lays onto the top of the scope. And it can work in ‘automated’ mode, too! See the video soon… Click on the thumbnails below for bigger pictures.
And here are the first photos of the EagleEye Clicks magnifier. This one connects to the scope body with a 1″ / 30 mm / 34 mm adapter, and can be adjusted in many ways into the right position.
My project with new Feinwerkbau rifle parts goes on. I totally got rid of the original butt plate’s contact surfaces and designed my own system. Of course, with a FolloWing on the top :-) Nothing special but with everything that is really needed.
Another steel part has been replaced to a Nylon one, already 186 g dead weight is removed from the rifle.
And replaced also the loading port lever. This lever is very comfortable, I can close the loading port by rotating the long arm with two fingers, instead of pushing a small and ugly part with one finger. An additional feature is the safety mark, that cable tie blocks the trigger finger when the loading port is open but moves from the way when it is closed.
This is a special adapter for the EagleEye Parallax Magnifier, for the scopes fitted with a rubber ‘scope enhancer’. These enhancers are not totally compatible with the normal EagleEye rings because they can fit only the scope’s ocular tube in 39-43 mm diameters, and there are different versions for every 1 mm step.
This adapter has a bigger inside diameter (45 mm), is more flexible and will be mounted onto the top of the rubber enhancer, with two massive cable ties. The half-cylinder shape can adapt to different models and diameters of enhancers.
The lens system and the articulated arm is the same, the magnifier window can be folded onto the top of the scope.
The inside surface has got grooves in it so the scope magnifier will fit steady on the enhancer, without rotating. It’s advised to find the appropriate position first and to fix the cable ties only when everything is perfect.
I had some new laser sintered parts on my rifle again: the prototype of the EagleEye Parallax magnifier, the Anti-POI-Shift Kit, plus some replacement parts in the stock. The trigger blade was a prototype of the new ‘Round’ FlexiPoint trigger blade (the ‘Edge’ version), and of course the good old FolloWing…
I started the competition exactly as last time at Rivington: missed 2 in the first three lanes. But this time I was able to stay clear on the rest so finished with 48 ex 50 points and won this GP. Well, I have to admit that it wasn’t so windy as it was in Rivington (where I missed 17 in that crazy wind). I left the mrs. at home so nothing could make me nervous ;-), we had a beautiful weather with a weak but always changing wind. I had a bad start but found myself quickly and enjoyed the shooting.
The prototype of EagleEye magnifier worked very well. In the last half a year I was struggling to see the numbers on the parallax wheel, also had some dumb misses when reading the 13 as 18 on the scale… But now, with this magnifier, I was able to see everything crystal clear, with my eyes on the scope. It saves a lot of time, if you don’t need to take the rifle off the eye and lean back after every rangefinding, I had more time to choose the right moment for the shot. Now I can’t wait to have the final version of EagleEye printed…
This was an exceptionally good day for the Sinter3D Team, Brian also had his 1st place, in the Piston class! :-)
